Wedding photography in Waterford for Carmel and Darren

Not too long ago I was invited to do some wedding photography in Waterford for Carmel and Darren. It was a great day which started for me at the groom’s house and then made me move to Carmel’s sister. The flower girls were dressed and ready to go. Great excitement when Carmel opened the box Darren gave her as wedding gift. A beautiful bracelet!

The ceremony was held by father Michael Cooney from Terryglass in Co. Tipperary, which was Carmel’s home place. The ceremony was beautiful and touching, especially when their little baby daughter was brought to them after the signing of the register…

Escaping the heavy rain whilst driving from Crooke church to Dunmore East looking for a location for more romantic wedding photography in Waterford… Our eyes are on the sea as we are trying to get some shots featuring the beauty of the sea shore without having the bright sun in our eyes as the rain disappears… The rainbow was a great surprise. I do admit though that this is already a more edited image for a better impression of this amazing and real moment of bride and groom kissing under the rainbow…dunmore beach with rainbow

A little stroll through the park in Dunmore East with all the palm trees makes you feel like being in a different country all together… Only the Lighthouse in the back is an impressing landmark reminding of our true location: The Waterford Coastline.

Arriving at the lovely and charming wedding venue The Athenaeum House Hotel after many more romantic wedding photography in Waterford. The Athenaeum in Ferrybank was a bit of a discovery for me. I loved the intimate wedding venue with it’s beautiful garden and terrace, ideal to celebrate a wedding inside or outside on a warm summer’s day… With the view over the river Suir and Waterford city the Athenaeum is quite an exclusively located wedding venue, somewhat hidden and quiet and yet right in the middle of it… I was impressed by the food which was not only cooked to perfection but exceeded Irish wedding venue standards in creativity and taste by far. The staff was attentive, super friendly and helpful at all times. Especially Noel is a pure gem! Thanks for all to everybody in the Athenaeum and I hope to be back again!!

The Athenaeum was a wonderful place to celebrate this wonderful day for Carmel and Darren and their families and friends! As a little surprise Carmel’s sister had invited Brendan Mccarty, the singing chef, who gave a fantastic show that the father of the bride still talks about with great pleasure!!
