Sarah and Damien’s wedding in Carlton Hotel Ballinasloe
I met Sarah and Damien at his brother’s wedding in the County Arms Hotel, Birr, and I was delighted and privileged to be asked a second time to be photographer – this time at their own wedding in Carlton Hotel Ballinasloe!
My day began at Sarah’s house when the girls had their hair and make up done and dad was cooking in the kitchen… Obvious lady of the manor was Sarah’s little doggie, who was really cute and got great attention. I loved Sarah’s head piece, a crown of beads which was worn by Sarah’s mum on her wedding day!Dad being the happiest man at this hour of the day…
Arriving for their wedding in Carlton Hotel Ballinasloe I met with the boys outside the hotel where we had only little time for some shots before the ceremony.
It was certainly one of the most emotional weddings I witnessed last year. Beside the fact, that both Sarah and Damien were noticeably so strongly connected, the really well picked music was excellently performed by friends and really touched everybody’s heart… Beautiful readings and the ritual of the blending of the sands made this civil marriage ceremony very special.
After the ceremony Sarah and Damien had a wonderful reception accompanied by tasty cookies and mulled wine. As it was raining outside we did not leave the hotel but managed to get a couple of shots in the back. I loved the mirroring glass walls and their lines went great together with the lines of Sarah’s umbrella. A very graphic effect.
